The People's Park is located in the center of Shanghai. It used to be one of the largest parks in Shanghai whose predecessor was Shanghai horse racing hall. After the liberation of Shanghai, Shanghai horse racing hall was transformed into people's park. On October 1, 1952, People's Park was opened to the public free.
