The program focuses on the love and marriage life of the master of Yu opera Chang Xiangyu. In 1942, Chang Xiangyu and Chen Xianzhang met and fell in love with each other in Baoji, Shaanxi. In 1943, Chang Xiangyu followed her father and troupe to perform at Hanzhong, Shaanxi. Later on, she returned to Baoji regardless of family resistance and married Chen Xianzhang after Chen's divorce. In the turbulent late 1940s, Chang Xiangyu and Chen Xianzhang moved from Shaanxi to Gansu.
