In February 1968, 19 students from the former Shanghai No.1 Medical College spontaneously organized a medical team and went to mountainous areas in Guizhou to diagnose and treat the Miao compatriots. With their noble medical ethics and superb medical skills, the team members saved many patients whose lives were in danger. The local people praised them as "good cadres sent by Chairman Mao".
