Lu Jingrong and Wang Yujiu were both regiment commanders of the Chinese army who had arranged marriage for their young daughter and son. After the Battle of Shanghai broke out in 1937, Lu Jingrong joined the Anti-Japanese War. A month later, he died at the frontline in Yuepuin town Baoshan district. After Wang Yujiu’s death in the war in 1991, their children began to stuggle in the tortuous life.
