The opening ceremony of Sheshan Monastery in Songjiang County, Shanghai was held. It was the first monastery run by the Chinese Catholic Church in accordance with the principle of “to be independent”. The first 36 sessions of monastic students were from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and Shanghai.
