Series of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the World
The traditional firing technique for Longquan Celadon which is currently the only one ceramic item of China was selected to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity; UNESCO in 2009.The documentary captures the fantastic pictures of firing kilns which are still in operation at Longquan. The inheritance, the development history, the cultural and aesthetic characteristics have been explored in this documentary. Besides, stories about the successors of National Intangible Cultural Heritage Projectare also told in this documentary. The French named Longquan China as "Celadon" used to be shipped through the maritime Silk Road to the countries in the Europe, favored and collected by the people there. This documentary, made by the oral description of the UNESCO officials, experts of Italian and French museums, sinologists, is going to make you experience again the great magic of this world intangible cultural heritage.
The documentary was written and directed by Professor Wang Li from Tongji University. It was jointly presented by Tongji University, Lishui University, China Financial Information Center and produced by the College of Arts and Media and the Sino-Italian Campus of Tongji University. It was published by Tongji University Press. The documentary is 50 minutes long (with CN-EN, and CN-ITA subtitle versions) divided into two 25-minepisodes. The condensed version of 25 mins was presented to UNESCO for broadcast.
Documentary of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the World--Celadonin Longquan is displayed for communication on related international conferences, festivals and exhibitions home and abroad in 2016; for example, the forums and activities of Venice International Film Festival in September; the forum and screening activities of world intangible heritage protection held by China Financial Information Center in November; and the promoting activities of Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival, China in December.

Li Wang, doctoral supervisor, professor in the College of Arts and Media, Tongji University, has engaged in teaching and research of art history and theory formany years. In recent years she has been devoting herself to the research on the protection of cultural heritage, and published related VCD documentaries like Exploring Shanghai and Florence (with Chinese, Italian and English versions) about the cultural heritage protection inurban and Celadon in Longquan (with CN-EN,and CN-ITA versions) about the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the World in China, etc.
